Mauricio Fernandez traveled to Peru and surveyed the worlds largest factory processor along with some other fishing vessels at anchor off Chimbote. Simon Groves surveyed a north American fleet of catchers and processors for London underwriters, which took him back to Dutch Harbour again. Philippines ferries kept Simon and Edmund busy during July. More recently we have attended fishing fleets in Ecuador, ferries in Trinidad and a tug in the Cayman Islands. Argentina is next up with a large factory processor operating in Antarctica.
Simon Groves has recently completed a specific loss prevention exercise for a consortium of German fleets, mainly container ships. It involved surveys in Germany, Malta and Spain over a three week period. It was nice to have a large loss prevention exercise once again. This was previously very popular with underwriters and it’s nice to see shipowners making use of the service.
