Simon Groves has been dealing with some surveys in Monaco, Sierra Leone and Trinidad. In the meantime Ezequiel Castro completed a survey of a couple of tankers in Peru and from the Panama office assisted with condition and P&I surveys. Also a voyage approval in Trinidad was carried out by Frank Perez.

David Jones was seeing a large fleet in Turkey and completed a technical appraisal there. Edmund Concepcion carried out JH2013/007 A, B and C surveys in Taiwan.

It still observed a bad habit on board. The tank sounding pipes are usually found gagged open or disconnected in the engine room although these are fitted with self-closing weighted cocks, thereby allowing any overflowing fuel to spray around the engine room. Inserve always recommends that all sounding pipes are checked to ensure they are rigged correctly.
